Montreal police are trying to track down a self-styled medium who allegedly defrauded one of his victims of $80,000 U.S. in cash.
And police also suspect that victim was not alone.

Soriba Camara, 46, regularly advertised his powers in the Italian-language newspaper Corriere Italiano and operated out of an apartment near the Guy-Concordia métro station. He promised to solve romantic, health or money problems, called himself “Monsieur Paradis” and guaranteed his results.

But police say Camara’s operating method involved a $40 fee for an initial visit, which rose exponentially with every subsequent consultation. And they allege the fraud occurred after Camara offered to “bless” the cash of one of his victims, to help the man to win lotteries. The cash in question was $80,000 in U.S. currency, which the victim brought to Camara for benediction.
