A free medical outreach organized by the Nigerian army in the South-East has been described by residents as a ploy to depopulate the region - Schools in various states in the region including Imo, Anambra, and Enugu were deserted after rumours spread that soldiers were injecting students with Monkey Pox in a bid to kill them - The army however insisted that the outreach which was conducted as part of the Operation Python Dance 2 exercise, was not harmful to anyone Residents of various South-East states have insisted that a free medical outreach organized by the Nigerian army was a ploy to depopulate the region, Punch reports. On Wednesday, October 11, numerous schools in the South-East were deserted following unverified reports that soldiers were injecting students to death with the Monkey Pox virus.
